[417] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is dissociated from taints (āsava) but subject to taints, there arises a phenomenon that is dissociated from taints but subject to taints, by root condition (hetu-paccaya): dependent on one aggregate (khandha) that is dissociated from taints but subject to taints, [there arise] three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa); [dependent on] two aggregates … At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), dependent on the aggregates, the base (vatthu); dependent on the base, the aggregates; [dependent on] one primary element (mahābhūta) … . Dependent on a phenomenon that is dissociated from taints and not subject to taints, there arises a phenomenon that is dissociated from taints and not subject to taints, by root condition: three [cases]. It should be elaborated in the same way as the mundane dyad (lokiya-duka) in the Minor Intermediate Dyads (cūḷantara-duka); there is no difference. Abridged.
