[515] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is a tie (gantha) is a condition for a phenomenon that is a tie by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya): earlier and earlier ties are a condition for later and later ties by immediacy condition.
A phenomenon that is a tie is a condition for a phenomenon that is not a tie by immediacy condition: earlier and earlier ties are a condition for later and later aggregates (khandhā) that are not ties by immediacy condition; ties are a condition for emergence (vuṭṭhāna) by immediacy condition.
A phenomenon that is a tie is a condition for a phenomenon that is a tie and for a phenomenon that is not a tie by immediacy condition: earlier and earlier ties are a condition for later and later ties and for the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates by immediacy condition.
