[346] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is a taint (āsava) is a condition for a phenomenon that is a taint by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya): preceding taints are a condition for succeeding taints by immediacy condition. A phenomenon that is a taint is a condition for a phenomenon that is not a taint by immediacy condition: preceding taints are a condition for succeeding aggregates (khandha) that are not taints by immediacy condition. Taints are a condition for emergence (vuṭṭhāna) by immediacy condition. A phenomenon that is a taint is a condition for a phenomenon that is a taint and for a phenomenon that is not a taint by immediacy condition: preceding taints are a condition for succeeding taints and for the associated aggregates by immediacy condition. A phenomenon that is not a taint is a condition for a phenomenon that is not a taint by immediacy condition: preceding aggregates that are not taints are a condition for succeeding aggregates that are not taints by immediacy condition. Conformity (anuloma) is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for the attainment of fruition (phalasamāpatti), by immediacy condition. A phenomenon that is not a taint is a condition for a phenomenon that is a taint by immediacy condition: preceding aggregates that are not taints are a condition for succeeding aggregates that are taints by immediacy condition. A phenomenon that is not a taint is a condition for a phenomenon that is a taint and for a phenomenon that is not a taint by immediacy condition: preceding aggregates that are not taints are a condition for succeeding taints and for the associated aggregates by immediacy condition.
