[227] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) conjoined with and originated by mind (cittasaṃsaṭṭhasamuṭṭhāna), a phenomenon not conjoined with and originated by mind (no-cittasaṃsaṭṭhasamuṭṭhāna) arises, not by object condition (na-ārammaṇa-paccaya): dependent on the aggregates conjoined with and originated by mind, [there arises] mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna rūpa); [at] rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi).
Dependent on a phenomenon not conjoined with and originated by mind, a phenomenon not conjoined with and originated by mind arises, not by object condition: dependent on mind (citta), [there arises] mind-originated form; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on mind, [there arises] kamma-born form (kaṭattārūpa); dependent on mind, the base (vatthu); [dependent on] one great element (mahābhūta) … up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā).
Dependent on a phenomenon conjoined with and originated by mind and on a phenomenon not conjoined with and originated by mind, a phenomenon not conjoined with and originated by mind arises, not by object condition: dependent on the aggregates conjoined with and originated by mind and on mind, [there arises] mind-originated form; dependent on the aggregates conjoined with and originated by mind and on the great elements, [there arises] mind-originated form; at the moment of rebirth-linking, the two [cases] should be done.
