[266] Conditioned by an internal (ajjhattika) phenomenon (dhamma), an internal phenomenon arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): three [sections], similar to the dependence chapter (paṭicca-vāra).
Conditioned by an external (bāhira) phenomenon, an external phenomenon arises by root condition: conditioned by one external aggregate (khandha), two aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) [arise]; [conditioned by] two aggregates … At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa) both [sections] should be done, up to the internal primary elements (mahābhūta); conditioned by the base (vatthu), external aggregates [arise].
