[313] Conditioned by a derived phenomenon (upādā dhamma), a non-derived (no-upādā) phenomenon arises, not by root condition (na-hetupaccaya): conditioned by the eye sense-base (cakkhāyatana), eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) [arises]; conditioned by the body sense-base (kāyāyatana), body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) [arises]; conditioned by the base (vatthu), rootless (ahetuka) non-derived aggregates (khandhā) [arise]; at the moment of rootless rebirth-linking (ahetuka-paṭisandhikkhaṇa), conditioned by the base, delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), [arises].
Conditioned by a non-derived phenomenon, a non-derived phenomenon arises, not by root condition: conditioned by one rootless non-derived aggregate, three aggregates and non-derived mind-produced matter (cittasamuṭṭhāna rūpa) [arise]; [conditioned by] two aggregates …; at the moment of rootless rebirth-linking, [conditioned by] one primary element (mahābhūta), up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā); conditioned by the aggregates accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness, delusion accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness, [arises].
The three [cases], too, are similar to [those in] the paṭicca [section]; there is no difference.
Conditioned by a derived phenomenon and a non-derived phenomenon, a non-derived phenomenon arises, not by root condition: conditioned by one aggregate accompanied by eye-consciousness and by the eye sense-base, three aggregates [arise]; [conditioned by] two aggregates … accompanied by body-consciousness … conditioned by one non-derived aggregate and by the base, three aggregates [arise]; [conditioned by] two aggregates …; at the moment of rebirth-linking, conditioned by the aggregates accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness, and by the base, delusion accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness, [arises].
… Not by object condition (na-ārammaṇapaccaya): three. Not by repetition condition (na-āsevanapaccaya): five.
