[445] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated with clinging (upādāna-sampayutta) is a condition, by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon associated with clinging: the preceding aggregates (khandhā) associated with clinging are a condition, by immediacy condition, for the subsequent aggregates associated with clinging. The root is to be stated. The preceding aggregates accompanied by greed (lobha) dissociated from views (diṭṭhigata-vippayutta) are a condition, by immediacy condition, for the subsequent greed dissociated from views; the aggregates associated with clinging are a condition, by immediacy condition, for emergence (vuṭṭhāna). The preceding aggregates accompanied by greed dissociated from views are a condition, by immediacy condition, for the subsequent aggregates accompanied by greed dissociated from views and for greed.
