Upādānaupādānasaṁpayuttaduka

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (4) · Vol. 43 · Section 468

[468] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is both clinging (upādāna) and associated with clinging (upādāna-sampayutta) is a condition, by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is both clinging and associated with clinging: each preceding [phenomenon that is] both clinging and associated with clinging is a condition, by immediacy condition, for each succeeding clinging. In this way all nine questions should be formulated; there is neither adverting (āvajjana) nor emergence (vuṭṭhāna).
