[515] Conditioned by a defiled phenomenon (saṅkiliṭṭha dhamma), a defiled phenomenon arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): three [cases], similar to the dependence section (paṭicca-vāra). Conditioned by an undefiled phenomenon (asaṅkiliṭṭha dhamma), an undefiled phenomenon arises by root condition: conditioned by one undefiled aggregate (khandha), three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) [arise]; [conditioned by] two aggregates … rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), up to the internal primary elements (mahābhūta). Conditioned by an undefiled phenomenon, a defiled phenomenon arises by root condition: conditioned by the base (vatthu), the defiled aggregates [arise]. Conditioned by an undefiled phenomenon, a defiled phenomenon and an undefiled phenomenon arise by root condition: conditioned by the base, the defiled aggregates [arise]; conditioned by the primary elements, mind-originated form [arises]. Conditioned by a defiled phenomenon and an undefiled phenomenon, a defiled phenomenon arises by root condition: conditioned by one defiled aggregate and the base, three aggregates [arise]; [conditioned by] two aggregates … . Conditioned by a defiled phenomenon and an undefiled phenomenon, an undefiled phenomenon arises by root condition: conditioned by the defiled aggregates and the primary elements, mind-originated form [arises].
