[728] Conditioned by a sense-sphere phenomenon (kāmāvacara dhamma), a sense-sphere phenomenon arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya):
Conditioned by one sense-sphere aggregate (khandha), three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) arise; [conditioned by] two aggregates … ; at rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), [and so on] as far as the internal primary elements (ajjhattika mahābhūta); conditioned by the base (vatthu), sense-sphere aggregates arise.
Conditioned by a sense-sphere phenomenon, a phenomenon that is not sense-sphere (na-kāmāvacara) arises by root condition:
Conditioned by the base, aggregates that are not sense-sphere arise; so too at rebirth-linking.
Conditioned by a sense-sphere phenomenon, a sense-sphere phenomenon and a phenomenon that is not sense-sphere arise by root condition:
Conditioned by the base, aggregates that are not sense-sphere arise; conditioned by the primary elements, mind-originated form arises; so too at rebirth-linking.
