[546] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is both a defilement (kilesa) and defiled (saṅkiliṭṭha), a phenomenon that is both a defilement and defiled arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): dependent on greed (lobha) there arise delusion (moha), wrong view (diṭṭhi), dullness (thīna), restlessness (uddhacca), shamelessness (ahirika), and lack of moral dread (anottappa). The wheel (cakka) [is to be done]. Dependent on a phenomenon that is both a defilement and defiled, a phenomenon that is defiled but not a defilement arises by root condition: dependent on the defilements there arise the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates (khandhā). Dependent on a phenomenon that is both a defilement and defiled, a phenomenon that is both a defilement and defiled and a phenomenon that is defiled but not a defilement arise by root condition: dependent on greed there arise delusion, wrong view, dullness, restlessness, shamelessness, and lack of moral dread, and also the associated aggregates. Dependent on a phenomenon that is defiled but not a defilement, a phenomenon that is defiled but not a defilement arises by root condition: dependent on one aggregate that is defiled but not a defilement there arise three aggregates; dependent on two aggregates … . Dependent on a phenomenon that is defiled but not a defilement, a phenomenon that is both a defilement and defiled arises by root condition: dependent on the aggregates that are defiled but not defilements there arise the defilements. Dependent on a phenomenon that is defiled but not a defilement, a phenomenon that is both a defilement and defiled and a phenomenon that is defiled but not a defilement arise by root condition: dependent on one aggregate that is defiled but not a defilement there arise three aggregates and the defilements. Dependent on a phenomenon that is both a defilement and defiled and on a phenomenon that is defiled but not a defilement, a phenomenon that is both a defilement and defiled arises by root condition: dependent on greed and the associated aggregates there arise delusion, wrong view, dullness, restlessness, shamelessness, and lack of moral dread.
