[612] Conditioned by a phenomenon (dhamma) with roots to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena-pahātabbahetuka), there arises a phenomenon without roots to be abandoned by seeing (na-dassanena-pahātabbahetuka), not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā):
Conditioned by the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), [there arises] delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt.
Conditioned by a phenomenon without roots to be abandoned by seeing, there arises a phenomenon without roots to be abandoned by seeing, not by root condition:
Conditioned by the rootless (ahetuka) [phenomenon] without roots to be abandoned by seeing … up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā); conditioned by the eye base (cakkhāyatana), [there arises] eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa); conditioned by the aggregates accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca) and the base (vatthu), [there arises] delusion accompanied by restlessness.
Conditioned by a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by seeing and a phenomenon without roots to be abandoned by seeing, there arises a phenomenon without roots to be abandoned by seeing, not by root condition:
Conditioned by the aggregates accompanied by doubt and the base, [there arises] delusion accompanied by doubt.
