[641] A phenomenon not having a root to be abandoned by mental development (na-bhāvanāya-pahātabba-hetuka) is a condition for a phenomenon not having a root to be abandoned by mental development by way of prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya): three.
… A condition by way of postnascence condition (pacchājāta-paccaya): three; a condition by way of repetition condition (āsevana-paccaya): nine; a condition by way of kamma condition (kamma-paccaya): in the case where [phenomena] not to be abandoned by mental development are being classified, the asynchronous [kamma] (nānākkhaṇika) is obtained. … A condition by way of not-disappearance condition (no-vigata-paccaya). Abbreviated (saṅkhittaṃ).
As [it is in] the dyad of [phenomena] having roots to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena-pahātabba-hetuka-duka), even so the conditions for the [dyad of phenomena] having roots to be abandoned by mental development, the negative [method] (paccanīya), the analysis, and the enumeration are without any difference.
A phenomenon not to be abandoned by seeing (na-dassanena-pahātabba) [is a condition] for a phenomenon not to be abandoned by seeing … — at the end, the desire and lust for one's own goods (saka-bhaṇḍa-chanda-rāga) should also be supplied.
