[640] A phenomenon (dhamma) with roots to be abandoned by mental development (bhāvanāya-pahātabba-hetuka) is a condition for a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by mental development by way of decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya) … Natural decisive-support: aggregates (khandhā) with roots to be abandoned by mental development are a condition for aggregates with roots to be abandoned by mental development by way of decisive-support condition.
The root (mūlaṃ): Aggregates with roots to be abandoned by mental development are a condition for aggregates without roots to be abandoned by mental development (na-bhāvanāya-pahātabba-hetuka) and for delusion (moha) by way of decisive-support condition. Desire-and-lust (chandarāga) for one's own belongings is a condition for desire-and-lust for another's belongings by way of decisive-support condition; desire-and-lust for one's own possessions is a condition for desire-and-lust for another's possessions by way of decisive-support condition.
