[924] A phenomenon (dhamma) with a root to be abandoned by mental development (bhāvanāya pahātabbahetuko dhammo) is a condition, by way of decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya), for a phenomenon with a root to be abandoned by mental development: decisive support as object (ārammaṇūpanissaya), decisive support as proximity (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive support: lust (rāga) with a root to be abandoned by mental development … hatred (dosa), delusion (moha), conceit (māna) … longing (patthanā) is a condition, by way of decisive-support condition, for lust with a root to be abandoned by mental development, for hatred, for delusion, for conceit, for longing.
