[787] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), a phenomenon of the formless sphere arises, not by way of repetition condition (na-āsevana-paccaya): Dependent on one resultant (vipāka) aggregate of the formless sphere, three aggregates [arise]; dependent on two aggregates … rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi). Dependent on a phenomenon of the formless sphere, a phenomenon that is not of the formless sphere arises, not by way of repetition condition: Dependent on the aggregates of the formless sphere, mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) [arises]. Dependent on a phenomenon that is not of the formless sphere, a phenomenon that is not of the formless sphere arises, not by way of repetition condition: Dependent on one aggregate that is not of the formless sphere, three aggregates and mind-originated form [arise]; dependent on two aggregates … up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā). Dependent on a phenomenon of the formless sphere and a phenomenon that is not of the formless sphere, a phenomenon that is not of the formless sphere arises, not by way of repetition condition: Dependent on the aggregates of the formless sphere and the primary elements (mahābhūta), mind-originated form [arises].
