[819] Conditioned by an emancipating phenomenon (niyyānika dhamma), an emancipating phenomenon arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): three [cases], similar to [those of] the dependence [chapter] (paṭicca).
Conditioned by a non-emancipating phenomenon (aniyyānika dhamma), a non-emancipating phenomenon arises by root condition: conditioned by one non-emancipating aggregate (khandha), three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) [arise] … up to the internal great primary elements (mahābhūta); conditioned by the base (vatthu), the non-emancipating aggregates [arise].
