[89] With a phenomenon (dhamma) that is a mental factor (cetasika) as condition, a phenomenon that is a mental factor arises by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya): the three are similar to those of the dependence section (paṭicca). With a phenomenon that is not a mental factor (acetasika) as condition, a phenomenon that is not a mental factor arises by object condition: with the eye base (cakkhāyatana) as condition, eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa); with the body base (kāyāyatana) as condition, body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa); with the base (vatthu) as condition, mind (citta). (At) rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi). With a phenomenon that is not a mental factor as condition, a phenomenon that is a mental factor arises by object condition: with the eye base as condition, the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by (sahagata) eye-consciousness; with the body base as condition, …; with mind as condition, the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates; with the base as condition, the aggregates that are mental factors. At the moment of rebirth-linking both should be done. With a phenomenon that is not a mental factor as condition, a phenomenon that is a mental factor and a phenomenon that is not a mental factor arise by object condition: with the eye base as condition, eye-consciousness and the associated aggregates; with the body base as condition, …; with the base as condition, mind and the associated aggregates.
