[189] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is not a root (na-hetu) and is clung to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya), there arises a phenomenon that is not a root and is clung to and subject to clinging — not by kamma-result condition (na-vipāka-paccaya). … not by nutriment condition (na-āhāra-paccaya).
