[247] In dependence on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is not a root (na-hetu) and is undefiled but subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika), there arises a phenomenon that is not a root and is undefiled but subject to defilement — not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā).
