[259] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is a root (hetu), undefiled and not subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika), there arises a phenomenon that is a root, undefiled and not subject to defilement — through root condition (hetu-paccaya).
