[142] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is not subject to defilement (na-saṅkilesika), a phenomenon that is not subject to defilement arises by root condition (hetupaccayā). Dependent on a phenomenon that is not subject to defilement, a phenomenon that is not free of defilement (na-asaṅkilesika) arises by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is not subject to defilement, a phenomenon that is not subject to defilement and a phenomenon that is not free of defilement arise by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is not free of defilement, a phenomenon that is not free of defilement arises by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is not subject to defilement and a phenomenon that is not free of defilement, a phenomenon that is not free of defilement arises by root condition.
