[279] Bhikkhus, an act of suspension (ukkhepanīyakamma) for not relinquishing an evil view (pāpikāya diṭṭhiyā appaṭinissagge) that possesses three factors is an act not in accordance with the Dhamma, an act not in accordance with the Vinaya, and one badly settled: it is done in the absence of the accused; it is done without questioning him; it is done without his acknowledgment. Bhikkhus, an act of suspension for not relinquishing an evil view that possesses these three factors is an act not in accordance with the Dhamma, an act not in accordance with the Vinaya, and one badly settled.
