[527] Bhikkhus, here again a bhikkhu commits several saṅghādisesa offenses; regarding some offenses he is free from doubt, and regarding some offenses he is doubtful. Those offenses about which he is free from doubt, he conceals; those offenses about which he is doubtful, he does not conceal. Having disrobed (vibbhamitvā), he is ordained again. Those offenses which, being formerly free from doubt, he concealed, he conceals afterwards while free from doubt; those offenses which, being formerly doubtful, he did not conceal, he conceals afterwards while free from doubt. Bhikkhus, that bhikkhu, having been given probation (parivāsa) for both the former and the latter classes of offenses (āpattikkhandha) in accordance with their concealment, should be given penance (mānatta).
