Niyasakamma

[57] Bhikkhus, an act of demotion (niyassakamma) that possesses three factors is a legitimate act (dhammakamma), an act in accordance with the discipline (vinayakamma), and one that is well settled: it is done in the presence [of the accused]; it is done with questioning; it is done with his acknowledgment. Bhikkhus, an act of demotion that possesses these three factors is a legitimate act, an act in accordance with the discipline, and one that is well settled.
