[576] Here again, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu commits several saṅghādisesa offenses (āpatti) — measurable and also immeasurable … distinct and also mixed together. He asks the Saṅgha for a combined probation (samodhānaparivāsa) for those offenses. The Saṅgha grants him a combined probation for those offenses. While he is undergoing probation, he commits in the interval several saṅghādisesa offenses — immeasurable, unconcealed … immeasurable, concealed … immeasurable, both concealed and unconcealed. He asks the Saṅgha for a sending back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassana) on account of the interval offenses. The Saṅgha sends him back to the beginning on account of the interval offenses by a legitimate act (kamma), irreversible, fit to stand; it grants combined probation in accordance with the Dhamma, grants mānatta in accordance with the Dhamma, and grants rehabilitation (abbhāna) in accordance with the Dhamma. That bhikkhu, bhikkhus, is purified of those offenses.
