[566] Bhikkhus, here again a bhikkhu commits several saṅghādisesa offenses (āpatti)—some measurable, some immeasurable; some of the same name, some of different names; some of the same class, some of different classes; some kept distinct, some mixed together. He requests from the Saṅgha a combined probation (samodhānaparivāsa) for those offenses. The Saṅgha grants him the combined probation for those offenses. While he is undergoing probation (parivāsa), he commits in the interval several saṅghādisesa offenses—measurable, unconcealed. He requests from the Saṅgha, for the interval offenses, the sending back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassana). The Saṅgha sends him back to the beginning for the interval offenses by a legitimate formal act (kamma), unshakable and fit to stand; it grants the combined probation legitimately; it grants mānatta illegitimately; it rehabilitates (abbheti) him illegitimately. That bhikkhu, bhikkhus, is not purified of those offenses.
