[567] Bhikkhus, further, here a bhikkhu commits several saṅghādisesa offences (āpatti) — limited in number and unlimited, of one name and of different names, of the same class and of different classes, kept distinct and mixed together. He requests the Saṅgha for combined probation (samodhānaparivāsa) for those offences. The Saṅgha grants him combined probation for those offences. While he is undergoing probation, he commits in the interval several saṅghādisesa offences, limited in number, concealed. He requests the Saṅgha for the sending back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassana) on account of the offences committed in the interval. The Saṅgha sends him back to the beginning on account of the offences committed in the interval by a legitimate formal act, irreversible, fit to stand; it grants combined probation in accordance with the rule,¹ grants mānatta not in accordance with the rule, and rehabilitates him not in accordance with the rule. That bhikkhu, bhikkhus, is not purified of those offences.
