[568] Bhikkhus, again, here a bhikkhu commits multiple saṅghādisesa offenses — limited in number and unlimited in number, of one name and of various names, of the same class and of different classes, kept distinct and mixed together. He requests the Saṅgha for a combined probation (samodhānaparivāsa) for those offenses. The Saṅgha gives him a combined probation for those offenses. While undergoing probation (parivāsa), he commits in the interval multiple saṅghādisesa offenses, limited in number, both concealed and unconcealed. He requests the Saṅgha for a sending back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassana) on account of the intervening offenses. The Saṅgha sends him back to the beginning on account of the intervening offenses by a formal act (kamma) that is in accordance with Dhamma, unshakable, and fit to stand; it gives the combined probation in accordance with Dhamma; it gives the penance (mānatta) not in accordance with Dhamma; it rehabilitates (abbheti) him not in accordance with Dhamma. That bhikkhu, bhikkhus, is not purified of those offenses.
