[640] What are the three wholesome roots (kusalamūla) that are the root of a disciplinary issue arising from dispute (vivādādhikaraṇa)? Bhikkhus, here bhikkhus dispute with minds free from greed (lobha), dispute with minds free from hatred (dosa), dispute with minds free from delusion (moha), saying: "It is Dhamma," or "It is not Dhamma," … "It is a grave offense (āpatti)," or "It is not a grave offense." These three wholesome roots are the root of a disciplinary issue arising from dispute.
