[652] Herein, what is a legal issue arising from dispute (vivādādhikaraṇa) that is wholesome (kusala)? Bhikkhus, here bhikkhus with wholesome minds (citta) dispute: "This is Dhamma," or "This is not Dhamma," … "This is a grave offense (duṭṭhullā āpatti)," or "This is not a grave offense." Whatever quarreling, brawling, contention, dispute, divergent speech, contrary speech, speech tending to vexation, and strife there is in that matter — this is called a legal issue arising from dispute that is wholesome.
