[658] A legal issue arising from an offense (āpattādhikaraṇa) is unwholesome (akusala) or indeterminate (abyākata).¹ A legal issue arising from an offense may be unwholesome, may be indeterminate; there is no legal issue arising from an offense that is wholesome (kusala).²
