[44] Now at that time bhikkhus turned their bowls upside down on the ground, and the rim was worn away. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, I allow a grass mat (tiṇasanthāraka)." The grass mat was eaten by termites. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, I allow a piece of cloth (coḷaka)." The piece of cloth was eaten by termites. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, I allow a bowl-stand (pattamāḷaka)." Having toppled from the bowl-stand, a bowl broke. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, I allow a wicker bowl-stand (pattakuṇḍolikā)." A bowl was scratched against the wicker bowl-stand. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, I allow a bowl-bag (pattatthavikā)." There was no shoulder strap. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, I allow a shoulder strap (aṃsavaddhaka) and a binding string (bandhanasuttaka)."
