[585] Now at that time bhikkhunīs, having performed the invitation (pavāraṇā) among themselves, did not invite the Saṅgha of bhikkhus. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. [He said:] "Bhikkhus, a bhikkhunī, having performed the invitation by herself, must not fail to invite the Saṅgha of bhikkhus. Whoever should fail to invite is to be dealt with according to the rule."
