[268] A bhikkhu who, not having been previously invited (appavārita), approaches an unrelated householder (gahapatika) and comes to make stipulations (vikappa) concerning a robe commits two offenses: as he is making the stipulation, in the act there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa); when the stipulation has been made, there is an offense entailing forfeiture and confession (nissaggiya pācittiya).
