[269] A bhikkhu who, not having been previously invited (pubbe appavārito), approaches unrelated householders and undertakes a stipulation (vikappa) regarding a robe commits two offences (āpatti): while he is undertaking the stipulation, in the act of effort (payoga) there is an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa); when the stipulation has been undertaken, there is an offence entailing expiation with forfeiture (nissaggiya pācittiya).
