[542] Where was the offense entailing expiation (pācittiya) for one who eats garlic laid down by that Blessed One who knows, who sees, the Arahant, the Perfectly Awakened One?
It was laid down at Sāvatthī.
Concerning whom?
Concerning the bhikkhunī Thullanandā.
On account of what matter?
On account of the matter that the bhikkhunī Thullanandā, not knowing moderation, had garlic carried away.
There is one laying down (paññatti). Of the six origins of offenses (āpattisamuṭṭhāna), it arises through two origins (as in the Eḷakaloma rule).
