Rattandhakāravagga

Vinayapiṭaka · Parivāra · Vol. 8 · Section 561

[561] "Where was the offense requiring expiation (pācittiya) laid down for one who weeps, beating and beating herself?" "It was laid down at Sāvatthī." "Concerning whom?" "Concerning the bhikkhunī Caṇḍakāḷī." "Regarding what matter?" "Regarding the matter that the bhikkhunī Caṇḍakāḷī wept, beating and beating herself." There is one laying down (paññatti). Of the six origins of offenses, it arises through one origin (as in the dhuranikkhepa rule). The Rattandhakāra Chapter, the second, is finished.
