Vinayapiṭaka · Parivāra · Vol. 8 · Section 583

[583] "The offense entailing confession (pācittiya) for [a bhikkhunī] using a high couch (āsandi) or a luxurious couch (pallaṅka) — where was it laid down?" — "It was laid down at Sāvatthī." "Concerning whom?" — "Concerning several bhikkhunīs." "On what matter?" — "On the matter of several bhikkhunīs using high couches and luxurious couches." There is one laying-down (paññatti). Of the six origins of offenses, it arises through two origins (as in the Eḷakaloma rule). ¹ [Editorial note in the Siam Raṭṭha edition:] In the M[araṃma/Burmese] and Yu[ropean/PTS] editions, the three readings "ārāmaṃpi uyyānaṃpi pokkharaṇīpi" ("a monastery, a pleasure-garden, a lotus pond") are not found.

English translation from the Pali (Siam Raṭṭha edition) — under review, not for citation.
