[967] There is an offense (āpatti) that one commits in the presence (sammukhā) and emerges from (vuṭṭhāti) in the absence (parammukhā); there is an offense that one commits in the absence and emerges from in the presence; there is an offense that one commits in the presence and emerges from in the presence; there is an offense that one commits in the absence and emerges from in the absence. There is an offense that one commits not knowing and emerges from knowing; there is an offense that one commits knowing and emerges from not knowing; there is an offense that one commits knowing and emerges from knowing; there is an offense that one commits not knowing and emerges from not knowing.
