[106] Or whereas some honorable ascetics and brahmins, while enjoying food given in faith, live engaged in seeing such shows (visūkadassana) — that is to say: dancing, singing, instrumental music, theatrical performances, story-recitations, hand-clapping music, gong music, pot-drum music, spectacles of the fairy city (sobhanagaraka), caṇḍāla acrobatics, bamboo-pole feats, bone-washing rites, elephant fights, horse fights, buffalo fights, bull fights, goat fights, ram fights, cock fights, quail fights, stick-fighting, fist-fighting, wrestling, mock combat, troop musters, battle arrays, and regimental inspections — he refrains from seeing such shows. This too is part of his virtue (sīla).
