[107] Or whereas some honorable ascetics and brahmins, while enjoying food given in faith, remain devoted to gambling and games that are a basis for negligence — that is to say: games on boards of eight rows and of ten rows; the same games played "in the air" (on imaginary boards); hopscotch (stepping around diagrams marked on the ground); spillikins (removing pieces without disturbing the rest); games of dice-boards; tip-cat (striking a short stick with a long one); hand-pictures (dipping the hand in dye and slapping it down to guess the figure); dice; blowing through leaf-pipes; toy plows; turning somersaults; pinwheels; toy measures; toy carts; toy bows; guessing letters traced in the air or on the back; guessing another's thoughts; and mimicking bodily defects — he refrains from devotion to such gambling and games that are a basis for negligence.
