[17] 'Or whereas some honorable ascetics and brahmins (samaṇabrāhmaṇā), while enjoying food given in faith (saddhādeyya), remain engaged in running errands and carrying messages of such a kind — namely, for kings, kings' great ministers, khattiyas, brahmins, householders, or princes, saying: "Go here, go there; take this there, bring this from there" — the ascetic Gotama refrains from engaging in such errand-running and message-carrying.' Thus indeed, bhikkhus, might an ordinary person (puthujjana) speak when speaking praise of the Tathāgata.
