[153] Now at that time a certain bhikkhu, out of compassion, released a pig caught in a snare. He was remorseful … "What was your intention, bhikkhu?" "My intention was compassion, Blessed One." "There is no offense, bhikkhu, for one whose intention is compassion."
Now at that time a certain bhikkhu, with a mind of theft, released a pig caught in a snare, thinking, "before the owners see it." He was remorseful … "You, bhikkhu, have committed an offense entailing defeat (pārājika)."
