[216] Now at that time the group-of-six bhikkhus (chabbaggiyā) made a bhikkhu of the group of seventeen (sattarasavaggiyā) laugh by tickling him with their fingers (aṅgulipatodaka). That bhikkhu, becoming distressed and unable to catch his breath, died. They were remorseful (kukkucca). … "Bhikkhus, there is no offense (anāpatti) of pārājika; there is an offense (āpatti) of pācittiya."
