[574] "Pretext of clan (gottaleso)" means: a Gotama has been seen … a Moggallāna has been seen … a Kaccāyana has been seen … a Vāsiṭṭha has been seen committing a pārājika offence. Having seen another Vāsiṭṭha, he accuses him: "A Vāsiṭṭha has been seen by me; you have committed a pārājika offence; you are not an ascetic, you are not a son of the Sakyans …" or "… any act of the Saṅgha (saṅghakamma) [in common with you]" — for each utterance there is an offence of saṅghādisesa.
