[375] "What do you think of this, Udāyi? A glow-worm insect (kimi khajjopanako) in the blinding darkness of night, or an oil lamp in the blinding darkness of night — of these two splendors (vaṇṇa), which splendor is the more excellent and the more sublime?" "Venerable sir, of these two splendors, the oil lamp in the blinding darkness of night is the more excellent and the more sublime."
