Suttapiṭaka · Majjhimanikāya · Vol. 14 · Section 276

[276] "And what, bhikkhus, is right livelihood (sammā-ājīva)? Right livelihood, bhikkhus, I say is twofold: there is, bhikkhus, right livelihood that partakes of merit (puññabhāgiya) and ripens in acquisitions (upadhivepakka); and there is, bhikkhus, right livelihood that is noble, free of taints (anāsava), supramundane, a factor of the path (maggaṅga)."
