[592] At Sāvatthī. "Bhikkhus, there are these four meditators (jhāyī). What four? Here, bhikkhus, a certain meditator is skilled in concentration (samādhi) regarding concentration, but does not act with care (sakkaccakārī) regarding concentration. Here again, bhikkhus, a certain meditator acts with care regarding concentration, but is not skilled in concentration regarding concentration. Here again, bhikkhus, a certain meditator is neither skilled in concentration regarding concentration nor acts with care regarding concentration. Here again, bhikkhus, a certain meditator is both skilled in concentration regarding concentration and acts with care regarding concentration. Therein, bhikkhus, the meditator who is both skilled in concentration regarding concentration and acts with care regarding concentration — he is, of these four meditators, the foremost, the best, the preeminent, the highest, and the most excellent. Just as, bhikkhus, from a cow comes milk … the most excellent."
