[609] At Sāvatthī. … [One meditator] is skilled in resolution (abhinīhāra) regarding concentration (samādhi) but is not one who acts with care regarding concentration. [Another] is one who acts with care regarding concentration but is not skilled in resolution regarding concentration. [Another] is neither skilled in resolution regarding concentration nor one who acts with care regarding concentration. [Another] is both skilled in resolution regarding concentration and one who acts with care regarding concentration. Therein, bhikkhus, the meditator (jhāyī) who … is the highest and the most excellent.
